If you happen to have the afternoon off this Tuesday and have appreciated what Molly Ivins meant to American journalism and literature, then make your way up to Central Park West and 64th Street at 4:30pm that day.
The Society for Ethical Culture will be hosting a tribute to the courageous woman who lost her battle with cancer this past January. The guest list is impressive to say the least. Those in attendance will be treated with writers such as Calvin Trillin, Gail Collins, Maya Angelou and John Leonard and the actress Kathleen Chalfant. If Molly made an impact on them, you know Molly had a way with her wit and charm. In case you haven't read her books or columns, check them out here.
