Welcome To The Crusade Against The Press Express

John McCain and Sarah Palin's recent remarks against the press may be new for the Senator, but Palin is bringing a new dawn to the country where the people are talked at and not with. Although Palin doesn't want to kill Obama like her supporters do, her inflammatory language is doing everything to not alleviate the situation. Instead she is focusing on attacking the press and dredging up old attacks on Obama that didn't work the first time around. Of course, we can't ask her about it or even write much on her vitriol, especially when she locks journalists out of her events.

From Think Progress:

During Gov. Sarah Palin’s (R-AK) speech in Florida this morning, campaign staffers kept the press locked out of the park and away from supporters attending the speech:

Constantly under the watchful eyes of security, the media wasn’t permitted to wander around inside Coachman Park to talk to Sarah Palin supporters. When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head toward the bleachers where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out of nowhere and confront him or her and say, “Can I help you?” and turn the person around.

When one reporter asked an escort, who would not give her name, why the press wasn’t allowed to mingle, she said that in the past, negative things had been written. The campaign wanted to avoid that possibility Monday.

The campaign wants to avoid negative things written about her? Um, that isn't how it works Governor. To some degree, this is still a free country and we as citizens have a right to a free press that must have access to those that wish to hold higher office.

Palin may not read newspapers and likes to burn books as a hobby, but I think she secretly keeps a copy of Brave New World under her pillow at night.
