Does John McCain Love America?

Of course he does, it is a ridiculous question that none of us should have to ask. Yet when McCain made the comment on Fox that he didn't love America until he was a POW, it showed the hypocrisy of the right when the excoriated Michelle Obama for her comment about America that was taken way out of context. We shouldn't have to question the patriotism of any candidate, or their wives.

I Though Hillary Put Bill Away For Good...Guess Not

Senator Clinton's campaign ship began to righten itself a little once husband and ex-President Bill was taken off the national stage after he made a number of inappropriate comments. Within a short amount of time, the philanthropic elder statesman was reduced to a campaign hack that would say anything to help his wife, even if it hurt. The Clinton camp got the message and hid him for the last month or so, but today he let another one rip.

It'd be a great thing if we had an election where you had two people who love this country, who were devoted to the interest of the country and people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues instead of all this other stuff which always seems to intrude on our politics.

Um, no Bill. It IS a great thing that we have THREE people who love this country and are running in the election. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see past those carefully sculpted words of yours. The only ones biting that hook are your core supporters that will hang on as long as Hillary does. Shame on Bill for trying to infer that Barack Obama does not love his country. That is just pathetic.

Tim Ryan(D-OH) got up in the House of Representatives yesterday and laid out a blistering attack on the supporters of this war and specifically those that support the escalation in Iraq as President Bush is determined to see it happen.

After he was done the Republicans got up to complain about hearing the truth put so bluntly, so Ryan came back and said this:

I just want to, Mr. Speaker, it is entirely possible and welcome under the Constitution of the United States, to have disagreements about how we need to handle troop deployments, how we need to handle our situation in different wars, and it's not to be said that because one Party or one group of people have a different philosophy and a different strategy, [From this point on, his statement was shouted] that somehow they're not supporting the troops! Now your Party and your President, the Republican Party, Mr. Speaker, and the Republican President, are the ones who sent our kids to battle without armor. Without body armor. And it took Jack Murtha months to uncover it and then to finally get it paid for and distributed. It was the Republican Party, Mr. Speaker, who sent kids into battle without up-armored Humvees. Now, nobody questioned the Republican Party's patriotism. And nobody asked them if they supported the troops. Again, we called you incompetent, we said you were incapable, we said you were derelict in you duty, we said you should have provided oversight, you didn't, but we never called you unpatriotic. Now enough of the unpatriotic business.
