Why Won't McCain Repudiate And Denounce Ant-Semite Hagee?

John Hagee has already been exposed for his anti-gay and anti-Catholic sentiments. John McCain says he disagrees with some of his views yet continues to hold onto his endorsement. While Hagee has "apologized" about the Catholic comments, he stayed silent about hating gays and now we find out he hates Jews as well. How much does he hate them (me included!) you ask?

John Hagee, the controversial evangelical leader and endorser of Sen. John McCain, argued in a late 1990s sermon that the Nazis had operated on God's behalf to chase the Jews from Europe and shepherd them to Palestine. According to the Reverend, Adolph Hitler was a "hunter," sent by God, who was tasked with expediting God's will of having the Jews re-establish a state of Israel.

Going in and out of biblical verse, Hagee preached: "'And they the hunters should hunt them,' that will be the Jews. 'From every mountain and from every hill and from out of the holes of the rocks.' If that doesn't describe what Hitler did in the holocaust you can't see that."

He goes on: "Theodore Hertzel is the father of Zionism. He was a Jew who at the turn of the 19th century said, this land is our land, God wants us to live there. So he went to the Jews of Europe and said 'I want you to come and join me in the land of Israel.' So few went that Hertzel went into depression. Those who came founded Israel; those who did not went through the hell of the holocaust.

How dare this bastard talk about my great-grandparents like that. Fuck him! This sermon, even if it is ten years old, is disgusting and has no business in an open and religiously tolerant nation. Hagee is a sick bastard who belongs at a KKK rally, not standing behind John McCain and his Presidential bid. For McCain to keep this guy around is a slap in the face not only to Jews, but to any group persecuted by Hitler or any other dictator who has advocated and carried out instances of ethnic cleansing.

If McCain can kick a few lobbyists to the curb, he can do the same to this gasbag.

McCain Can't Denounce His Pastor's Anti-Gay Views

Down below John McCain sat with Bill "Falafel" O'Reilly and John Hagee came up. He disagreed with the anti-Catholic statements but ignored the anti-gay remarks. Either McCain forgot the whole question or he just subliminally expressed how he feels about the LGBT community. No matter the answer to that, McCain shows he is just not on the ball, whether with his wits or his compassion for all of humanity.

McCain is honored to have this man's endorsement.....I wonder how conservative Catholics feel about that?



Isn't this the time to consolidate the Republican base instead of casting them aside?

Despite the antipathy many conservatives have had for McCain, he just got an influential nut on board the S.S. McCain. John Hagee runs the Cornerstone Church in Texas and despite being one of many ministers that think God and politics should be mixed, he's a special one. Hagee believes that I will perish unless I bow to Christ, or something like that. And he believes McCain is the man for him in the White House.

Hagee cited McCain's support of Israel and his opposition to legal abortion as reasons why he was backing him.

The pastor is best known in some Washington circles as a founder of Christians United for Israel and for his belief, as laid out in his book "Jerusalem Countdown" that the end of days scenario as spelled out in the Book of Revelation will occur after Russia, allied with the Islamic world, attacks Israel.

"Russia is going to get in that position and they are literally, with all that massive military force, going to attack Israel," Hagee told ABC News in 2006. "This is recorded in Ezekiel 38 and 39. God himself is literally going to destroy that army. Decimate it."

Hagee added that the confrontation would be followed by a Chinese army of 200 million coming to the city of Armageddon, where they will meet British and U.S. forces in the Battle of Armageddon.

"At that point, Jesus Christ returns to Earth and sets up his eternal kingdom in the city of Jerusalem and there's 1000 years of peace," Hagee said. "The Jewish people are going to see the supernatural hand of God preserve them and deliver them while the enemies of Israel are crushed. That's the end-time story."

Asked if he subscribed to this theology, McCain furrowed his brow.

"All I can tell you is I'm proud to have Pastor Hagee's support," he said.

Um, that is scary. Furrow your brow all you want McCain. That would be support I'd run....run fast and far away from. But when you are John McCain, I guess you'll take anything you can get. One nut deserves another.
