Rudy Caught Using Hale House Kids And Workers W/O Permission

After bashing Mitt in the last post, I wouldn't want to leave Rudy out in the cold this morning (it is in the 30s outside right now, poor guy). The Giuliani campaign was caught making what is universally known as a rookie mistake. Using images of people for campaign advertising without their permission is a big no-no. You would think his camp would know that....apparently not.

From The Daily News:

Rudy Giuliani is using a photo of Hale House children and caregivers in a new presidential TV ad without permission - and at least one staffer at the home wants out of the spot.

"I know he's running for President, but I don't want to be involved," said child-care worker Marisol Molina, 44, when shown her image in the ad, titled "Leadership," which Giuliani's campaign debuted last week. The ad appears at the bottom of this page.

"They should have let us know first," added Molina, who has spent nearly six years at the fabled Harlem home for children of jailed or drug-addicted moms.

"I don't want to be in that - no, uh-uh," Molina said firmly.

You heard the woman, leave her out. And stay away from the kids especially, Presidential politics is no place for those little tykes to be props for a guy like Rudy Giuliani. What is really sad about this is that at first, it seemed like Rudy was doing honest to goodness charity work. Donating your time to read to kids is a real mitzvah. Taking pictures to be used to show yourself as a decent man without checking to see if people care to be in there....now that is just sick.

Oh and the follow up? This part just make me sick:

When contacted by the Daily News, Team Giuliani at first dispatched senior adviser Anthony Carbonetti to talk with the soft-spoken Molina, a mother of three.

"We will deal with her privately," Carbonetti said. "I'd like the opportunity to speak with her."

Asked if the campaign planned to take the ad off the air, he added, "I will make that decision after listening to her."

Just a little callous, don't you think?
