Two years ago I was driving down the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to my then home Los Angeles. The beautiful ride was marred by one thing however, a car with a "Condi 08'" sticker. It was repulsive to say the least and scary because at the time, it seemed like a possibility. Nowadays the mention of a Rice presidential run is a joke, preempted by the laughable term as Secretary of State. She is so ineffective in dealing with representatives around the world because of the "I love George and he can do no harm" delusion that surrounds her daily life. It even shows with the mainstream media. A few months ago, she decided to write an opinion piece about Lebanon. She enlisted John Chambers, chief executive officer of Cisco Systems as a co-author, and they wrote about public/private partnerships and how they might be of use in rebuilding Lebanon after last summer's war. No one would publish it. Think about that. Every one of the major newspapers approached refused to publish an essay by the secretary of state. Price Floyd, who was the State Department's director of media affairs until recently, recalls that it was sent to the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and perhaps other papers before the department finally tried a foreign publication, the Financial Times of London, which also turned it down. As a last-ditch strategy, the State Department briefly considered translating the article into Arabic and trying a Lebanese paper. But finally they just gave up. "I kept hearing the same thing: 'There's no news in this.' " Floyd said. The piece, he said, was littered with glowing references to President Bush's wise leadership. "It read like a campaign document." It is only a matter of time until she disappears from the public eye, any dreams of a further life in politics has been dashed long ago. The only interest in her is from the corporate masters that she has served so well in the past and of course they will probably pay her well for it. It isn't like she needs the money, but she'll do whatever she can to encourage her failed ideologies so that America and the world can continue to suffer the thoughts of the neo-con community.
From The San Francisco Gate:
And that is the state of the Bush Administration. Everything is about campaigning. It is all they know. Condi wants to make Bush look good and that is why she hangs on to her job. Even with an abysmal 25% approval rating, George and his sycophants will continue to spew bullshit that shouldn't see the light of the day from the garbage heap where it formed.

Say What Condi?
Bush had his tool Secretary of State go on the Today Show yesterday to talk up the Administration's delusional view of the war in Iraq. As Monday and the deadline for Bush's excuses for the situation in Iraq approaches, the White House is defending the status quo by saying that things are getting better over there. Of course that is hardly the case.
From ThinkProgress:
[I]f you look at the way that they are fighting now, in a less sectarian fashion…I think they’re fighting on behalf of all Iraqis, where they showed up in the numbers that they are supposed to.
Are you kidding me??? Iraqis are constantly fighting each other, escalating the violence day by day, week by week and month by month. Shias, Sunnis and even the Kurds are incessantly killing each other in a never-ending civil war. Many of them join the army to exact revenge on one another. They also frequently surprise the American troops that are there to train them.
For the love of humanity Condi, please come back to earth and talk about what goes on there with at least a shred of truth.

Condi's A Tool Of The White Man
Kathy Griffin was on The View today and one of the topics that came up was Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. The specific debate shown below focused on if Condi is a tool of the white man. The Republican on the show was as clueless as she always is while the rest of the women seemed to agree on the fact that while Condi may be a woman, she in no way supports women's rights.

Condi Willfully Ignored The Truth About Niger
Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) ripped into Condoleeza Rice this morning, demanding she respond to Congressional inquiries about the run-up to the war, warning Dr. Rice 'that a failure to respond to his committee's inquiries undermined Constitutional governance'.
Condi has let 16 requests for information fall off her desk and into the proverbial wastebasket, clearly not interested in respecting the checks and balances of our consitution. Now times are changing and the Democratic party has subpoena power, one of the perks of having majority status. Mr. Waxman should and probably will use these powers to hold Condi and the White House accountable for the false information that was distributed to justify the war in Iraq.
From RawStory:
"Refusing to allow officials to testify before Congress...or ignoring congressional requests for information, as you apparently ignored my inquiries, are not consistent with our constitutional system of government," said the Committee's Chairman in a letter released today.
Waxman's letter stated that he was seeking to learn more about a variety of issues from the Secretary of State, including her "role in the President's false assertion that Iraq was seeking uranium from Niger."
The California Democrat also explained that he had sent Dr. Rice 16 inquiries since 2003. But only 5 of the letters that were also signed by committee Republicans had received responses because "Under the Bush Administration, several agencies followed a policy of not responding to minority party requests," he stated.
Waxman was particularly concerned with the false claim made by President George W. Bush in the 2003 State of the Union address concerning Iraq's efforts to acquire uranium from Africa, as well as other supporting statements by administration officials.
Dr. Rice can try and throw out these requests from Congress but she will be doggedly followed by the Congressman from California. Much like how a credit card company tracks down deliquent bill-payers, she will be held accountable for her actions that have led to the tremendous financial and human debt that her and the Adminstration has caused.

Condi Take Two: Don't question President Bush, ever!
Not only does she love Fox News, she loves the President and his 'new' plan even more. Undying loyalty without regard for reality is the standard for the Bush Adminstration."It's bad policy to speculate on what you'll do if a plan fails when you're trying to make a plan work."
This is from today's Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearings. Condi didn't stop there however, she added on that the destabilization of the region had nothing to do with President Bush 'bringing to democracy' to Iraq.
Speaking about the actions of Iran and Syria, which she repeated were destabilizing Iraq and the broader Middle East, Rice said the two states were engaging in "extortion" rather than diplomacy with the United States.
Leave it to her to assess blame on anyone and everyone other than herself and her boss.

Condi (hearts) Fox News
Right-wingers love Fox News for their blatantly slanted view of the world which generally falls off the plane of reality. So it should be no surprise that policymakers and Bush Adminstration officials love Fox too for letting them get away with all of their lies about reality.
Reuters picked up this gem in their open microphone this morning:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice let slip her news media preferences Thursday, saying, "I love every single one" of Fox News network's correspondents and also favors CBS anchor Harry Smith.
In comments overheard on an open microphone between morning television interviews, including one with Fox, the top U.S. diplomat said: "My Fox guys, I love every single one of them."
But Rice told an aide that when she was next in Iraq she would like to do a "one-on-one" interview with CBS "The Early Show" anchor Harry Smith.
"He's a decent guy. I know they are, like, 55 in the ratings, but I like him," Rice said in comments monitored by Reuters on a television feed.
Well who wouldn't love Fox News hacks, they are so....um, willing and able to take anything Bush and his cronies say at face value without practicing that thing called......journalism. By the way the 'I like Harry Smith' bit was pretty harsh when she added that he was 55th in the ratings, ouch!
