Freddie Makes It Official

Well he finally did it. The non-candidate candidate is now a full-fledged candidate. The announcement took so long...the event feels especially anti-climatic especially knowing what we know now. Fred's "dapper-ness" has faded from the media narrative after showing him in an unfriendly light. His fundraising powers are seemingly sapped and now all he can do is turn to Arnold's buddy Jay Leno to announce on taped TV.

From ABC7:

"I'm running for president of the United States," Thompson told Jay Leno in a taped appearance on NBC's "Tonight Show" airing Wednesday.

Thompson also is calling attention to his candidacy with a 30-second ad being broadcast during a Republican debate in New Hampshire that he is not participating in, and he will explain the rationale for his candidacy during a 15-minute Webcast on his Web site just after midnight.

"On the next president's watch, our country will make decisions that will affect our lives and our families far into the future. We can't allow ourselves to become a weaker, less prosperous and more divided nation," Thompson says in the ad that will air on Fox News Channel.

To sum up what he said, let me say three words: "blah, blah, blah." There is nothing exciting about him, I'm literally falling asleep typing this (it is almost one in the morning though). He's another bumbling idiot that tosses red meat to the conservative masses...but does nothing wen it comes to policy or shaping the country for the next four years.

I'm just waiting for him to drop like the others....even though he never really got going.
